Update for OCEAN miners:
Effective 9:00 AM EDT, the default OCEAN stratum endpoint will return to the non-BIP110 chain. Miners on the default endpoint need no action.
Both websites remain live:
Non-BIP110: https://t.co/w5mtvbkyHP
BIP110: https://t.co/yEVkqPyGrw
OCEAN miners have found blocks on both chains since the fork. Every client chooses where their hashrate goes, and that freedom is the bedrock of sovereignty and decentralization.
Your hash. Your choice.
Pitiful. They didn't even make it a full 24 hours before giving up.
I didn't even have time to figure out how to switch to the non-110 chain
Why is this actually needed? As far as I know with DATUM you build your own block, which means that you explixitly chose which fork you put your block on. Isn't using DATUM the point of actually mining with Ocean?
I would say the option of using DATUM is the point of mining with OCEAN. I've just been using their default and am glad they put it back on the main chain.
All they would need to do... is mine the blocks they liked using Datum and not include the spammy or 'unpure' transactions they didn't like.
What's wrong with that? Why try to create a whole new network?
I don't know. I couldn't, and still can't, make sense of where the urgency was coming from.
The conclusion i'm drawing is that most of these people (or the vast majority) don't have any income or job, or have lost all the Bitcoin they got cheap over the years.
So they need a rug to try to make more money but that's the only thing I can think of.
The sad thing is that Bitcoin needs work and meaningful improvement but Bip-110 is not the way to do it.
It also needs people who value it as money first and foremost.
Sucks that some people who valued that probably got disillusioned by this.
Stuff isn't money because of lines of code it's money because people use it that way. The Bippers could set a great example by going out and spending their Bitcoin but they... don't do that.
I guess it's cheap to bitch on twitter but actually spending your sats requires commitment.
If people want Bitcoin to 'be money' they have to use it that way. It amazes me how much people talk a good game, but when it comes time to spend they are... where again?
