'US could take years to rebuild missile stockpiles depleted in Iran war

The US could need several years to rebuild stocks of some of its most important missiles after nearly six months of war on Iran, defence analysts have told Al Jazeera.

Mark Cancian, a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), said the US has used about 60 percent of its global Patriot missile stockpile, while its supply of THAAD interceptors has fallen to roughly half of pre-war levels.

“If the war with Iran were to end today”, Cancian said, “it would take one to five years, depending on the munition, to get back to where we were pre-war”.

He said Patriot production has doubled from about 300 missiles a year before Russia’s war on Ukraine to about 600, but reaching Washington’s target of 2,000 annually will take until at least 2030.

Cancian said the most serious shortages involve long-range weapons and missile-defence munitions.

Dan Grazier, a senior fellow at the Stimson Center, said increased spending alone would not solve the problem.

“We need to design simpler weapons that can be bought at scale and produced in a relevant time span,” he said.'

Its a tech that gets heavy pushback. If they make it too good, deepfakes be all over the place and that could arguably cause chaos.

MS even pulled vibevoice last year even though it wasn't that precise at all.

until then here's a summary, charged gemstones, when equipped, currently improve your "luck" when receiving certain rewards.

i really wanna expand this feature so there's a little stat panel that shows your luck level and the increase gained by the loot you have equipped.

also the ability to create jewelry from stones + metal i thought ouls be quite cool, like i ln RPG crafting systems

The Monday after National Day was a public holiday, so I got to spend more time with the family. I guess it was quite memorable because the sixth graders’ national oral exam was around the corner, so I went full throttle at penning my responses for various oral questions. Maybe some of them would benefit when they “stalked” my WhatsApp status. In any case, I was glad to have had the opportunity to organise my photos and select those that will complement those oral questions. Restorative day!

Me too. @supratic wrote a guide in the link above.

I had to swap in a tiny-ish utxo this weekend (it was not worth it to create a new channel) and decided to test Phoenix. It worked but felt a bit as if the whole thing was out of my hands during the entire process. "This will be spliced in when the feerate drops below 500sats/vb" made me look, lol
