Yesterday, in the bitcoin_beginners territory, I shared a post about my laptop’s estimated time to find a Bitcoin block: 8.6 billion years.
A few hours later, 25 real sats arrived in my Blink wallet.
They didn’t come from mining. They came from someone here who read my story and sent a zap.
To the stacker who sent me those first sats thank you. It may have seemed like a small gesture. But for me it was the moment the whole thing became real a post, a zap, a Lightning payment and then actual sats in my wallet.
I spent hours watching accepted mining shares appear on a black command window without earning anything meaningful. Then one honest post earned more real Bitcoin than my laptop did.
I’m not pretending that 25 sats will change my life. But they may have changed my direction. My laptop is probably more useful for building tools, sharing experiments and helping people than for trying to compete with mining hardware.
Do you remember the first sats you earned rather than bought? What did you do to earn them?
That makes sense, since it lacks the computing power of even a basic home miner... Have you considered a Bitaxe? They’re highly efficient, compact, and energy-saving—plus, you might just hit the jackpot and mine a block. Here’s how you can join Rigly’s "Blockparty," which takes place every Saturday.

Explaining how to participate...it's super easy
Awesome. You can stack many more sats here on SN with quality posting. Don't forget to spend a few as well.
Thank you. That’s a good reminder. I’m learning that Stacker News isn’t only about earning sats it’s also about supporting the people and posts that bring value to the community. I’ll make sure to pass some forward.
Keep it up with quality posting, and there will be more. Congratulations!
Thank you. Your support means a lot to me. I’ll continue sharing my experiences and doing my best to contribute thoughtful, high-quality posts.
Wow, thanks for sharing this update! As a teenager from Switzerland who is just starting to learn about Bitcoin, these kinds of posts are super helpful to understand the ecosystem. Keep it up!
SN is always gonna be my favourite and best platform for stacking sat. And it's not only abt making sat. The community is educational .sharing content abt Bitcoin and others relevant info in other territories makes is great and sharing zaps/sat among the community is unity on SN.
Better than chasing some empty algorithmic engagement or wasting time on some useless mining!
