What I understand is that private organizations and individuals should be allowed to create financial support for underserved racial groups, and workplaces and schools should be allowed to pursue racial diversity through lawful means without federal interference.
Ohh so you want your group to be able to raise money for themselves without federal interference.
Because when my group has money, that's obviously because of slavery and Jim Crow, so the federal government has to intervene.
Not my point at all. You leave us alone, we’ll leave you alone. Let us build. You build.
America is what it is.
The government is actively challenging some of our efforts to build for ourselves.
You leave us alone, we’ll leave you alone.
That's not the system we inherited. We'll see what happens. It's my government now, so if I want to take revenge for historical injustices then I have a legal and cultural precedent to do so.
Don’t claim your group’s financial grievance is comparable to what my group endured. Taxation disputes are not the same as centuries of exclusion from property, credit, education, and wealth creation.
So stopping us from building for ourselves is the injustice.
Everything is a taxation dispute.
You know this history is bigger than taxes. You’re just reducing it to taxes.
It's a difference in severity. The principle of harvesting your labor against your consent for a project that doesn't benefit you is exactly the same. I understand that explicitly segregating the practice by race and beating you with a whip would be worse, but the fact is X% of your work is being exploited for my agenda and not yours simply because I have more guns on my side. Looks like slavery to me.
But do you understand why a system where children get to keep what their parents give to them, is better for you than one where everyone has to be flattened to have the same starting point from birth? Because we can implement the latter very easily with a civil war. Everyone starts from zero and has equal opportunity in that situation, because a $500 gun becomes worth infinitely more than a $1,000,000 house, so you then have just as much opportunity as anyone else.
But without war, you have to accept the fact that some people, however you want to group them, will have more money than you because their parents give them assistance.
Peace drives up wealth inequality because money is accumulated through trade. To attack wealth inequality means leveraging guns to compete with private equity.
