If Bitcoin loses 80% of its value tomorrow but continues to function exactly the same, would you still believe in its proposition?

20% of 65K is 15K. 15K from pennies. Still an incredible investment, and one that I can use directly as a currency.

Do you see Bitcoin only as an investment?

reply

No, but I like for my money to be worth more when I've waited awhile.

reply

One of the reasons why we're still in Bitcoin.

reply

Obvs not. Indicates something is seriously broken

What if the big warehouse where they store all the dollars burned down?

reply

I'm also waiting for that to happen, although I know they'd just reprint them, damn Fiat system.

Sounds wonderful 👍

Why would such a perfect asset break down? And why is it one of the options against the damn Fiat system?

reply

The proposition made sense when it was trading for under a dollar, so why would that change if it falls 80% now?

reply

It's not just Bitcoin as money, but the conviction it gives you to believe in it as a currency, as money, as something that has changed your life and will continue to change the current financial system.

Bitcoin works the same way at any price level; obviously, we all want our Bitcoin to appreciate in value, which is a fact. Given how its counterpart (government-issued money) works, it is only a matter of time before Bitcoin grows even further. Whether it’s at $1 or a million dollars, my coins are mine, and they don’t depend on a third party to be moved, spent or held as an asset. In this century, nothing is better than Bitcoin for protecting value or wealth.

reply

I completely agree with you. Bitcoin is and will continue to be one of the alternatives to the fiat financial system.
