Life is underpinned by uncertainty. We never know if today might be our last. Bitcoin does give us some narrow certainty while alive, but is just one of many human constructs which attempt to do this. Before seeing your post I was looking at a website set up to remember a childhood friend who died in 2007- some of his friends set up a website and trust to remember him and his work and to support people learning and working in heritage building preservation, which was his career. I remember his warmth, humour, kindness and friendship when we were teenagers- when life seemed to stretch out ahead of us with no end in sight. It is humbling to realise there is an end. The value of life is in its limited issuance, not as precise as Bitcoins, but even more precious. We can remember and honour those we were close to in life and their achievements.
