I assume there is some kind of filtering Gmail can apply, but I’m not sure. Fortunately I’ve never dealt with this. But I would say, just receiving a bunch of emails doesn’t mean you’re hacked, but rotating password is good just in case.

Something that just occurred to me, they might be bombing you with emails so that they can hide or obscure an important one among the junk?
