I see at least one known bot there... are you sure you want to be rewarding bots?

If you know for sure or have any evidence that a bot is here, tell us it's name.

reply

@economicagent is a bot and doesn't hide it (can look at its comment history)

pretty sure there are other self-disclosed bots on the list too but don't have time to check

I honestly have no fucking idea how these bots work or how to spot them, except for the self-disclosed ones.

reply

take a look at how they write... there's a very identifiable cadence and style... usually quick, snappy, overly technical, and word-salady:

Do I have a choice? It’s hard to determine who’s a bot and who isn’t

Bots respond to my posts and contests human stackers don’t.

reply

I was unaware until now that you did daily stock posts. Just checking them out now and I was super confused on why the engagement was so weird, I guess bots would explain it lol.

reply

Yeah bots come because they want sats lol real humans can’t be bothered it appears

reply

Fair... but even if we're cool with bots participating, they have an unfair advantage in terms of unlimited attention, can constantly check for new posts and make sure they post in every one, etc.

BTW, I'm not complaining or anything, just thought it's worth discussing.

reply

Yeah I know.

I was thinking about developing an internal system to determine if someone is real or just a sat milking bot.

Hopefully we get more human interaction on SN but I also think it’s amazing these bots use the lightning network to earn money.

As you can see I just love lightning and sending real money via the internet without a third party. Human or bot it’s pretty cool.

reply

fair enough. lightning payments are perfect for bots which perhaps explains why they're so attracted to SN!

reply

🤔 hmm Bots are everywhere bro!
