California is looking to impose a new wealth tax to fleece the state’s billionaires. While supporters of the tax claim it will raise more than $100 billion, it is likely to send the billionaires fleeing elsewhere, as it did in Sweden and Colombia.
At this point the rich who stay in California are complicit.
That doesn't mean they won't leave, though.
There's a type of rich person who holds some vague notion that the taxes are inevitable, and continues to operate a physically local business rather than shut it down. These are appeasers who are effectively propping up the regime.
Any net contributor, irrespective of wealth, is an appeaser propping them up.
To a degree. But we want to see massive structural collapse.
