Feeling anger is okay, it's natural; we can't control what we feel, but we can control our actions. Some people explode with aggression at the slightest provocation, no matter how small: an unwanted response, someone contradicting them, traffic on the highway, your child accidentally knocking over a glass of water, etc. These aggressive behaviors (shouting, insults, hitting) are what need to be controlled. If you find yourself in a high risk situation, and anger or adrenaline can be the impulse to save you, then unleash all your power.

My experience where I felt a lot of anger: An ex-partner hit my hand to knock my phone out of my hand. The next thing I remember was losing control, screaming, pushing him, and throwing something small but heavy at him. I didn't hit him in the face because I regretted hurting him at the last second (yes, I regret not doing it). I ran away.

You're absolutely right in saying that anger or adrenaline can also save your life in some cases; they're emotions that can prevent you from dying. Wow, I imagine you didn't stay in that relationship; it was a toxic relationship, wasn't it?
