Here we go Stackers! UCL is kicking off next week and this means that our pool is ready to start too. This year, UCL will keep the same format as the previous two years, with an initial group phase, followed by the knock out stage.
Group stage will run from September to January with 36 teams qualified. They will fight for 8 straight spots for the last 16 round and 16 spots for the Knock Out Play-offs, prior to the last 16 round. 12 teams will be eliminated in the Group Stage.
Knock Out stage will run from February to June 5th 2027, with the Final taking place in Madrid this year.
This is going to be a different year for me as, after 21 years, Real Betis will be playing at the top European contest again. Reaching the Knock Out stage would be great. If we play the Last 16 round would be amazing. In our road, we will play against @0xbitcoiner's Porto in Week 2.
Pool rules
- Buy in: 2000 sats, everyone can participate. If you are interested, please leave a comment and I will leave you an invoice. I will be tagging participants in other years and football contests.
- This year will be a year's long contest, from September to June. Stackers will get points for guessing winners in the matches picked every week. Additional points will be awarded for guessing the amount of goals scored in the matches. After considering options and checking with other stackers about their preferences, this is how points will be awarded:
- Group stage: four matches every week, where Stackers should provide which teams win or a draw, receiving 1 point for each correct guess. Then, 2 additional points if you guess the goals scored in the match.
- Play Offs: eight matches, where stackers should provide the winner for 2 points each and 2 additional points if you guess the total number of goals in each matchup.
- Last 16 round: eight matches, where stackers should provide the winner for 3 points each and 2 additional points if you guess the total number of goals in each matchup.
- Quarterfinals: four matches, where stackers should provide the winner for 5 points each and 2 additional points if you guess the total number of goals in each matchup.
- Semi-finals: two matches, where stackers should provide the winner for 10 points each and 2 additional points if you guess the total number of goals in each matchup.
- Final : one match, where stacker should provide the Champion for 15 points and 5 points for guessing the number of goals in the final.
Prize
All sats from buy ins will be added to the pot. In addition, I will donate 5000 sats to the pot.
The stacker who adds more points at the end of the year, will receive the full pot. In the event of 2 or more stackers reaching the same amount of points, the pot will be split.
