All right thank you glossy video. Let's actually show you the actual thing.

Here I've got Coder just cranking through and doing what I usually have my fancy CleanMyMac do. So I just go through and delete my stale worktrees.

One of the cool things about this is that it's all in bypass permissions mode.

Whatever you ask it to do, it's going to do. I keep bumping into these restrictions, bubble-wrap guardrails that Claude and them try to suffocate you in. No: assume that the user is always right. Do what the users ask.

I've been using this a lot for day-to-day development. Some design decisions: I hate when I open up Claude Code and they're like, "Ooh, we ran 33 shell commands." No. Show me the commands that you're actually running. I want to see at a glance everything.

So this is our terminal product. This will be supplemented by our cloud product, our mobile product, our web interface. But we want to just give you something simple that just works.

After you install it, from a simple command line, you just type in 'coder' and boom, you're there and you can type right away. It's fast.

Thanks to a lovely grant from the good people at Google, we got $100K of credits to spend up. So we're giving free Gemini 3.8 Flash. That's the main model powering Coder. And that'll be supplemented by other things. But hey, this works really, really well. So thank you, Google. Help us spend up our credits so we can go back and ask them for more.

Right now it's just got a single tool. What tools you got? Shell. This has been sort of a trend of coding agents to reduce the number of things it has to learn and more and more they're trained to use the shell tool really well.

So I can do things like find my open issues and pick one. And I've got one of my other tabs here is cranking through. Yeah, this made a, oh, that's doing some error analysis. Okay, so this is just like a very simple, this is like the simplest possible TUI that can do meaningful work.

We're going to add all sorts of cool stuff to this, and we hope you give us some feature requests. But we want to just give you a coding agent that works. The only thing you have to do is log in with GitHub. That's largely just to prevent abuse. Not that someone couldn't abuse that, too. But also we have ulterior motives in terms of doing interesting things, attracting GitHub's social graph onto OpenAgents.
