President Donald Trump's latest temper tantrum over Canada, including the renaming of Lake Ontario as Lake America after the collapse of trade negotiations, is premised on the claim that "Canada has been ripping off the United States for decades." At least, that's what the White House insisted in an August 25 press release about the tariff dispute. But, if that's true, why are Canadians poorer than Americans and falling further behind?

I don't know that saying Canada has been ripping off the US is correct but the premise that Canada isn't ripping off the US because we are poor is silly. Canada is horribly mismanaged and Canadians are brainwashed sheeple.
Criminals and scammers rip people off all the time without becoming prosperous themselves.
I hate the state as much as the next Stacker, but taking GDP per capita as your main data point smells pretty fiat to me.

It's simply not viable as a sovereign state and never has been. It had to couple to the US once the British Empire became largely irrelevant.
The existence of it's currency, and what industry it has, is a product of US benevolence at times and globalist occupation at others. It is a defacto US protectorate.
With the US facing the dollar endgame, the subsidies cannot continue, the US has to save itself before it can save anyone else. They are in the best position to be saved since the US has a vested interest in doing so and there are economies of scale to be had, but it needs to be reasonable throughout the transition.
The globalists aren't going to like the outcome either way, they lose a puppet state with natural resources and a pillar of their banking system... The population needs to wake up, say fuck the globalists, and understand their realistic options.
