Steal some funds if that is what you are going to do, but this kind of "negotiation" is clearly never going to lead to some sort of consensual ending. Hacker has an ego?
Or it is some kind of personal beef.
if they think the FBI isn’t watching this convo like a hawk they’re also delusional. the longer it goes on, the more it helps them find them. the FBI would absolutely reject paying the ransom.
I've been thinking extensively about this the past few days: if you're a fully compliant custodian and someone is holding your AUC (of this amount) hostage, when to talk to the feds? And I think the only possible answer would be: after you called legal as they will hang up on you to call the feds.
Do you think feds are motivated to let this anonymous payment network survive?
In what jurisdiction is it compliant or pays taxes?
What makes you think feds are not the attacker?
