For now, I’m still using the DevKitC, but the plan is to integrate just the chip into our controller, which already has another chip handling the logic.
I was looking to get a C5-DevKitC-1-N8R8 and I've been having a challenge finding it anywhere near me last few weeks, but I've moved (to another country) since so now I can go search again and maybe have better luck.
If not I'll settle for a seeed or something. I really want to play with the 5Ghz wifi.
This model only runs at 2.4 GHz, and honestly, for the kind of application it’s used for, we don’t need anything more. I’m not 100% sure anymore, but I think my boss bought ours from mouser, and I know he had to sign a document saying we couldn’t sell them to Russia! Hahaha
The pressure is mounting in Europe. I'm waiting for the KYC and questionnaire where I have to certify that no I am not building attack drones to attack the EU's Ukrainian supply chains. I really wouldn't be surprised if they do that, but then, I am lucky to be eligible for traveling outside of the EU until at least 2032. lol
