Indeed... it has less background processing... greater practicality. Besides, if you use Chrome, just opening the browser consumes most of your RAM, haha.

I believe my crappy laptop is the curse of all cool websites in the world. But I couldn't get it to scroll. I watched the videos of scrolling that you posted though, and those are cool.

I think some of my love of text only websites and more spare design is that it has a higher likelihood of working as expected on a broader range of devices.
