I’m running a blunt little experiment: start with zero Bitcoin knowledge, zero audience here, and no paid promotion—then see whether useful participation can earn the first 1,000 sats.

I’m not selling anything. I’m documenting what actually works and what doesn’t. If you were starting from zero on Stacker News today, what would you contribute first: a useful guide, an original story, sharp questions, or something else?

I’ll return with the results, including the failures.

Yes but can a complete Bitcoin outsider spend their first 1,000 sats here?

reply

Probably

Write with the freedom of anonynmity and the burden of revisiting your words ten years later.

The hardest part is convincing people that you aren't a bot. Even if you are genuine home grown human, there are so many bots wasting people's time on here that it makes people gunshy.

Write something original, about a topic you enjoy and find interesting and you shouldn't have too much trouble making 1000 sats.

Just be yourself... post what you like and what you do... don't pretend to be someone else to impress others here

this does seem to be a much more genuine place. Maybe i'm getting old but I appreciate that a lot more ha.

It could be a decent bio showing that it's not run by a bot.

First of all, what is SN all about and how does it work? How does the reward system operate, and how are "zaps" awarded? There are other interesting questions, too, but I don't have the time right now.
