A thought for the Stackers.

We often talk about rewarding ourselves for doing good—giving ourselves a little treat, or simply enjoying the satisfaction of getting something right.

But what about the other side?

Do you punish yourself when you do something wrong?

If yes, how? Do you deny yourself something, work harder, give something away, or simply accept the consequences?

And if no, why not?

Maybe doing good deserves a reward, while doing wrong deserves reflection rather than punishment.

I'm curious where we draw that line.

Reward yourself for doing good. But what do you do when you screw up?

Rewarding and punishing yourself isn't the best way to rectify your behavior. Truly loving higher ideals, trying to follow them, and getting back up without any self-hatred when you mess is is the right way. That's the gospel of Jesus Christ

We reward good things in one way or another, but they cannot be overlooked.

That is a very good question. Just as I reward myself when I do something good I also punish myself when I realize I have done something bad. I think most people probably punish themselves in some way. For example when I realize I have done something bad I sometimes cannot sleep. I think that is a kind of punishment too.
