I’m reading various ideas, and honestly, my answer is: act like an adult. Respect is the foundation of all civilization, yet on the Internet, everyone turns into a caveman.
The idea of incurring a debt when you receive downvotes sounds good in theory, but in practice, it’s more complicated than that. Someone could hit you with a million downvotes just because you said you prefer green over yellow, leaving you to pay off a debt simply because someone doesn't like you. Censoring certain words isn't a good idea either; this isn't just some generic "normie" social network.
Only three people on SN have insulted me, and honestly, I couldn't care less I mean, come on, it's the Internet. Besides, I'm certain that in person, they're cowards who wouldn't say even 10% of what they say here.
The person who latched onto hating me on this platform is bell_curve. I haven't the faintest idea why; one day, for no reason at all, they started attacking me and tagging me in the comments of posts that weren't mine, using insults. After this post goes up, you’ll see how they start foaming at the mouth with rage, hurling insults, name calling, and so on.
He calls me arrogant while explaining that he is better than me simply because we are from different countries. He attacks me by claiming I support Maduro or Chávez, when in reality, all I ever do is complain about the dictatorship in Venezuela and anyone who has read my posts knows that’s the case. He has blamed me for the crime in Venezuela. And now, according to him, I’m a bad mother. Am I in Venezuela? Yes. The reason is nobody’s business here; I often talk about my life, but I don’t need to give details.
I also forgot to mention that I am being accused of supporting a woman who murdered her children. Yes, I said that postpartum depression is real because it is. I studied psychology. I also said that someone who is not mentally fit should not be looking after children; after all, would you hire a person with bipolar disorder as a nanny? And I stand by the fact that this woman must pay for the crime she committed; with or without depression, what she did was a crime a horrible, unforgivable act.
If you are not pissing off some people sometimes you are not saying anything worth saying.
The contest of ideas is the free market well spring of security and prosperity- neglect it at your peril.

What I mean is SNs is a fairly free and uncensored forum where we can discuss ideas and news and views globally, but imo many here do not take full advantage of that and sometimes even dumbly downzap posts and comments that raise issues they do not want to be discussed.
But if we do strive to put forward our views and discuss the difficult issues and problems in the world like you raise regarding Venezuela it can help perhaps find solutions...or at least raise awareness of the nature of the problems.
The MSM is far too compromised and venues like SNs give us a more direct channel to know and share about life and the world.
And remember for every negative downzapper and hater there will be many more who appreciate your thoughts, news and comments.
Literally the only problem in Venezuela was the Chávez regime and their supporters. If the CIA puppet had won then the country could have recovered a lot quicker.

In general, the communist definition of "exploit" is nonsensical. If the US is richer than Venezuela, that alone is deemed evidence of exploitation, so from my perspective it doesn't make sense to engage in a serious dialogue. It's much easier to just arrest Maduro, then we can negotiate a price for the oil without any PRC meddling. And for Venezuela it would have been easier to have never sided with the communists in the first place. They pretty much wasted 27 years for nothing.
We have all been wasting our time allowing communism to fester for a century without resolving it through war. Time's up. If you like your PRC-led "mixed economy" you have to fight to keep it.

Venezuela does have vast oil reserves and USA wants to seize them because these days the USA cannot compete in a productive competitive manner- it increasingly relies upon bullying and theft.

I found out about this through X, and because for some reason it turned into a war between men and women when in reality, regardless of gender or the cause, it is simply something horrible and inhumane.
