This is a very interesting question and one that I have been pondering lately. I registered a company some time ago in order to offer BTC payment services to merchants, but the only way to do that is to KYC your clients and get a compliance officer etc. I really do not want to do all of that, simply because it goes against my own principles and all of what BTC is supposed to solve. I thought it wouldn't be so hard and that complying would open me doors to financing, sponsors and all that, but the cost overhead is so huge that I finally ditched that path.

I still want to offer those services and I will eventually, but not by playing by those rules. I am not too worried on getting identified as it will be mostly a petty crime, with very little amounts and it would be very hard to provably link my identity to it.

As for reputation, I guess I just want to do that one single thing and keep making it better, reputation maybe will get linked to a nym?

Thanks for your post, actually I now have more questions than what I just answered.
