I think BIP-177 comes from a desire to leave some legacy, no matter how unreasonable it is. You want to change the language to make it less confusing, but also hand-wave away arguments about how it's actually more confusing now?

Opti notes your use of `s` after `bitcoin`, which seems to become trendy again, but that too has been renamed by the same BIP (because satoshis is bitcoins now). The only reasonable canonical notations are:

1. a decimal followed by `BTC`
2. an integer followed by `sats`

Thanks to retarded unit bias argumentation, "bitcoin" and the symbol have lost meaning and cannot be used.
