Brigitte Kranendonk, a Canadian citizen, publicly denounced that her 83-year-old grandmother, Brigitte Stegemann (who suffered from stage 4 stomach cancer), was euthanized through the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program against her will and under serious irregularities.
In Ontario, Canada, an elderly, practicing Christian woman was recently euthanized against her will. The scene itself is horrifying: the woman screamed and struggled to prevent the injection of the intravenous poison that would kill her, which resulted in the nurse injecting her with blood. Yes, it is very graphic, but it is important to share it to understand the macabre reality of euthanasia.
The girl in the photo is her granddaughter and legal representative, who did everything possible to stop this madness. The euthanasia procedure began while the granddaughter was traveling and without her knowledge or consent. The elderly woman was subjected to a series of questions she didn't understand; she didn't even know what kind of procedure they were going to perform on her.
Currently, Belleville Police are conducting an open criminal investigation into the case to determine the legality of the medical center's actions.

I'm not necessarily against the idea of medical assistance in dying, but it seems to me that if the individual is themself saying they don't want it, then it should automatically be called off. (Even if they may have said yes previously, or if there are questions about mental capacity).
I agree. The consent part would seem to be a non negotiable requirement
is this the same story that came out a few months ago, where there was nobody to care for her, and she was delusional, and there was no funds/assets to seize, or doctors recommending it blah-blah-blah?

If the state or a medical institution can override your expressed will because they consider you to have "run your course" or to be a "burden," then the most fundamental private property of all—your own body—has ceased to exist.
In other words: Reducing human life to a checklist of "reproduction" and "cost to others" is the perfect definition of a collectivist dystopia.
