@Undisciplined and I have discussed before the quality of economics education at public schools.
Now that I think about it, my own institution is one of the larger producers of public school teachers in the city. Various departments have a Teaching Option within their majors, designed for students who want to go into teaching. I think it would be good for our Economics Department to start one. The more real econ education a future social studies teacher can get, the better.
Yes! Get on one of those stupid committees and push for Econ graduation requirements.
I'm generally too lazy to ever volunteer to be on a committee...
... but the thought of someone from the history department or identitarian studies departments teaching econ makes me shudder... that I might just be willing to actually fight for a public good... maybe.
Can’t have your graduates humiliating the school because they don’t know an Edgeworth Box from a hole in the ground.
IMO Edgeworth Boxes are just confusing and shouldn't be taught to undergrads if at all!
