Update: just shipped my first package using BTCPostage. Used the amount of Monero that I had in my cake wallet. Smooth process and isn't that much more expensive than using PirateShip (which has slightly discounted rates). Lets see if it gets there

This is something I'm researching myself. The solution provided here seems to me are just adding another intermediary into the process and make the shipping rates more expensive, just for the sake to allow bitcoin payments. I mean, is an option... most of the times is the customer pays these fees anyway.
I've checked btcpostage and the USPS rates aren't all that bad. Seem to be right on par
