I was thinking: why not be nice, and optimize my vuln-checker to not leech an entire document off api.osv.dev every time I am looking whether an unresolved or pending vuln is updated? Well... first off I get 405 on HEAD, so that's already poor.

I do get all this shit:

HTTP/2 200
content-type: application/json

traceparent: 00-05b09e1b3be8632d115eb137eb4a71386611d97a1d7209bc55363b2ec3848480-4152bc0a6a486f76-00

alt-svc: h3=":443"; ma=2592000,h3-29=":443"; ma=2592000
grpc-status: 0
grpc-message:
content-length: 2071
x-envoy-decorator-operation: ingress GetVulnById

but it doesn't respond to If-Modified-Since: ... and it doesn't give me an ETag: ....

So the only method I have is to download the entire advisory, hash it, compare it with the hash I have stored, and then discard it. Such a waste of bytes and compute. But then, this is of course insignificant waste compared to letting your LLM execute it.
