Nostr appeared while I was hibernating this last winter, so I also missed out on the initial hype. I did take a closer look recently and it does look great.
I don't intend to pay for Twitter, so joining the BTC tribe on Nostr sounds good to me
I somehow managed to completely avoid Twitter this whole time other than pretty much only using it recently for bitcoin magazine flash codes.
Maybe I've just been waiting for Nostr to show up.
