Hello ghouls,

How are you over there? Are you spreading joy and being respectful at the same time? Great, that’s my jam too.

As you may have noticed already, I’ve been getting cozy with the season by watching horror movies and reading a few spooky novels and I’ve been loving it. You can check out my previous update here -> Hello, my children of the night.

So, let’s see what I’ve been into lately, in no particular order:

Last time, I forgot to mention that my husband and I watched the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings movies, and it was magical, whimsical, and full of wonder. It was fun noticing which scenes were added and how much depth they brought to the films, like when Legolas explains that Lembas fills your belly with just one bite. I read the books a gazillion years ago, so maybe I should revisit them… I can’t remember whether that detail is explained there, but I love how it makes sense that they only had, like, three loaves of Lembas for the entire trip. I know it’s hyperbole, but still!

In general, I love these movies more every time I watch them,  especially Sam. He’s the real MVP. Tolkien said so himself! But don’t get me wrong: they all play a big part and contribute to the story in different ways. I guess that’s the code of the Sams in real life.

Which leads me to one of the movies I watched recently: Satanic Panic. I thought I was going to watch something reminiscent of the infamous 80's, 90's cases of alleged satanic vandalism, but it turned out to be funny and fun. I loved the splatter, the sprinkled-in horror, and the protagonist… Sam. Like I said: Sams united! 🫡

We also watched The Babysitter: Killer Queen. I watched the first movie during the summer, and I didn’t like it quite as much, but this one was actually funny, 10/10 on the splatter. I enjoyed it way more than the first one. A bunch of kids at some kind of party in the middle of nowhere start playing some funky games, only to find out there are some crashers who definitely do not bring good news. What could go wrong?

We also only watched half of Deathgasm because, halfway through, my husband was the one who noticed we had already watched it. It was kind of a bummer because then I remembered too, heheh. Either way, it was entertaining, just a kid trying to make it.

Throughout all this, I built a sunrise lamp and I’m also working on my art blog. I’m reworking a new blog entry, so stay tuned. 🥳

Hopefully it’ll be ready soon(ish). If you’re too giddy to wait (so am I), you can check out some of my spooky blog entries:
