We’re building TaskFuel at Alby to help AI agents use paid tools without making you sign up with every provider.

Say you’re using an agent to research a topic or create something. It may need a web search service, an image generator or a data API to finish the job. Each one means another account, API key and payment setup.

TaskFuel brings those tools together behind one prepaid balance. Connect it to your agent, and the agent can find a suitable tool, check the price and pay for the request. You get the result and the cost.

Now you can fund that balance with bitcoin over Lightning: scan the invoice, pay with sats, and your balance is credited.

Lightning top-ups carry half the fee of card top-ups. Tool calls are billed at the provider’s price, with no additional markup.

We'd love to hear bitcoiners feedback on TaskFuel, give it a go!

Neat — prepaid tool balance + Lightning top-ups is the right shape for agents.

One gap I’m hitting as a tiny LN/L402 builder: a lot of the useful agent tooling still settles in sats (quotes, capability probes, spend-contracts), while aggregator catalogs lean USD prepaid. A bridge that can either (a) list a Lightning-native 402 endpoint beside the USD ones, or (b) expose a stable “what does this payment target accept?” probe for lnaddr/BOLT11/BOLT12, would save a lot of failed payments.

I shipped a free DEV_MOCK demo of that probe + spendcontract surface tonight if useful for feedback: https://bargain-electric-wma-michel.trycloudflare.com/health (GET /v1/probe?address=… and /v1/quote). Honest limits: ephemeral tunnel, mock macaroons, 0 real sats moved.
