L'énergie, face cachée de la monnaie

Nobody has cracked it in 2 years, but recently, we started to receive a lot of emails asking for clues.
Initially, 7 clues were released, but even with frontier AI tools, the wallet still hasn't been drained.

recap and more clues below👇

First clue: “A picture is worth a thousand words, but eight pictures are worth fourteen.”

  1. Then there are 2 Olympic years.
  2. Department of origin.
  3. 2 in the table of contents.
  4. 2 in a chapter that deals with a central theme of the book.
  5. Une traduction en anglais est en cours.
  6. In the end, decentralized networks always prevail.

This isn't a clue but a clarification that could be useful: how does one go from a 24-word mnemonic passphrase to a Bitcoin address?

More specifically, how does one find the private key of an address from a mnemonic phrase?

Seven clues were revealed between August 15 and September 26, 2024.
As of now, that has not been enough, despite the shrewdness of the bitcoiners.

There will therefore be 7 additional clues (numbered 8 to 14): one every Thursday until December 19 inclusive, then 3 clues on

All the words are found on the normalized list http://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/.

The first 21 words to find (in the book) are in French and the last 3 in English. Then replace each of the 21 French words with the one of the same rank in the english.txt list

To verify that you have correctly found the first 23 words, the word staff (1697) can be used in the 24th position to form a valid mnemonic phrase compatible with wallets that allow the use of 24-word phrases, including Blockstream's wallet.

In fact, any of these 8 words can be used in the 24th position as the checksum word:
alien
detect
flip
gas
organ
peasant
staff
trigger

All you need to do then is replace it with the 24th word (which is NOT one of the 8 words above) and calculate the “seed”.

The first 14 words are contained in the book's images, taken in order. The words million, minutes, and opinions are not part of the solution because they are used multiple times in the images or in the plural.
The 13th and 14th words are on the cover.

The Olympic years are linked to the author's biography (15th and 16th words). Be careful, there is false information on certain unreliable sites.
The 17th word is linked to the author's name.

The 18th and 19th words are in the summary.

The words in the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th positions form a slogan used in 2024 by a brand known worldwide, inspired by a title from the group Tomorrow x Together.

Curious to see who's going to crack it

I'm surprised Noizat doesn't get more attention in the English speaking world. He published one of the earliest bitcoin books:

I'm glad to see that konsensus has this available. We may be looking at a purchase shortly! Do you also publish his other bitcoin books?

I know maxis might take issue with his shitcoining in recent years. It was a shame what his family went through with the kidnapping:

reply

Absolutely. He is very well known and respected in France.
He has been doing more appearances and podcasts etc in English since we translated this book.

His other books were self published, I think (available on Amazon).

I didn't find an English version in the konsesnus shop. Is it available for sats anywhere? I also wonder if the English version has enough info to crack the puzzle as well as wether the clues are equally available across all editions - digital and physical, regardless of the year, etc.

Here it is:

Hardcover, eBook, or audiobook.

All I know about the clues is included in the post. They seem possible to get in English, but it was originally written in French, so the translation might make it harder.

Oh, I see -- the cover is different (as well as the title since it is in a different language obviously).

Thanks!
