Wait, what? Satoshi originally programmed for unlimited coins?
Yeah, the halving was implemented as a bitshift that would happen every 210,000 blocks, but after 64 shifts, it would start over and issue a whole ’nother 21M coins—every ~256 years. Now it stops after one issuance. ;)
