Good point about the internet connection also requiring UPS if you really want to have a stable setup.

But I guess we don't want to make stuff too complex for someone just getting started (I think?).

You explain it perfectly, I don't need to add more.
And as you said, a laptop is much easier, is even having a backup battery, so you don't worry too much about power cut. You only have to be sure your internet connection is also having a battery backup.
