"At one point, Linux would send some broken packets that took down all of the Sun machines on the network. As it was difficult to get the Sun kernel fixed, Linux was banned from the university network until its bug was fixed. Not having Usenet access from one's desk is a great motivator."

And I did the same when was learning x86 protected mode and tried to do multitasking in assembler (was lucky in 1990s to randomly buy book in Russian [because programming books in English were more expensive back in the day in Latvia] about assembler, which had three parts - assembler for beginners, floating point stuff and protected mode).

For example I was trying to use blockstream green on my Linux laptop and my computer could not locate my Jade wallet. No clue why it wouldn’t detect it

For desktop I haven’t. I only use my windows machine when I need files of it or need to use Google chrome for something. I realized I don’t need to be a CLI master to enjoy Linux. PopOS works fine

I spent a lot of time playing Prince of Persia in 1990s too. And later was coding my own hobby OS too.
