The most comparable thing I've found is physically building something. I think there's something about providing relatively objective value, something that *does* something material and acts in the world. 

Having been in an executive/leadership role for 5+ of the past 7 years, I still miss coding a lot. I’ve worked to fill the void through other means (podcasting, content creation, entrepreneurship, wrote a book) but there’s something about the pure creation of coding that is unlike other things.
