Good to see other people feel the same way. After I left a last big corporate company, as a developer I was completely burnt out. Enjoying programming again in various forms again.

I am not sure though if this is still the case for software engineers. Are there younger engineers, new to the career, for whom programming is not merely a job but something they can imagine doing in their spare time?

Good point. I met basically zero such people during university. Was quite disappointing.
