Hello, I have been asking myself this question for a long time. Will it really happen? Will there be any tokens left? After all, there are worthy projects, not just some coins for transactions, but coins that perform useful functions. I won't name anything, but there are very interesting blockchains. There are also Meta with prospects. Perhaps this is a rhetorical question and there is no answer. Still, I want to ask it to the community. Thank you.

The altcoins are simply technical graft. Lightning is for transferring value. It doesn't matter how good payment rails get, there'll always be scammers taking marks.

Beginner? I would say a shitcoiner pretending to be a bitcoiner.
Red alert words:
- altcoins (like it there's an alternative, but it isn't)
- interesting blockchains - LOL that is the dumbest thing
- tokens
- worthy projects
- Meta
Only by these and show us exactly from where you are coming.
Stop pretending to be a bitcoiner. BE A BITCOINER.
Start reading more and use bitcoin not shitcoins.

https://lightning.how
Asking these meaningless questions will not help you became a bitcoiner.
Ask important questions: how to use bitcoin, how it works bitcoin. Not IF Bitcoin will kick ass shitcoins.

There is no need to insult me by calling me a "shitcoiner". Yes, I am not a bitcoin maximalist. Yes, I use other blockchains, but I see the greatest prospects in Bitcoin. And I'm not pretending at all, I'm writing what I think. Another issue is that I don't know much about Bitcoin. For example, in this post, I was given links to websites that I have never seen before. Secondly, I don't speak English, and this does not allow me to understand it properly.

Don't let toxic maxifags tell you what you are when you are absolutely certain of that.
Bitcoin has had to patch on what other crypto like Monero and Pirate have had natively since their genesis. The latter two, however, are made exclusively for private and intimate transactions while Bitcoin is far more transparent in both design and functionality; Lightning only exists because it was bad optics for maxis that didn't actually use the coin they were pumping to shill for high fees as other crypto in the space hunkered down to make their coins more utilitarian.
Bitcoin primarily due to its legacy will likely outlive other crypto, and Lightning will aid in that happening. That doesn't mean other crypto don't have purposeful usecases.

I'm of the opinion that shitcoins are basically testnets for future Bitcoin layers.
Whatever actually works, Bitcoin could absorb over time over different layers. The power of monetary networks is too strong for some other blockchain to compromise security or decentralization in favor of throughput.
Bitcoin already represents almost 50% of the digital asset space. With almost 20% being "stable" tokens, etherum being 15% and the rest of the noise representing the other 15%.
Most of those shitcoiners are hoping to buy the next Bitcoin. But Bitcoin is the next Bitcoin. Shitcoins are unregistered securities sometimes but Ponzi schemes almost all of the time
Imagine trying to ride any other horse in this race

If its not trying to be money, it doesn't need a coin. If its useful, it can be built to use Bitcoin proper as a payment method.
That's what nostr was created to prove.

Does this mean that absolutely everything can be built on Bitcoin. That is, everything that is already ready on other blockchains. Does that make sense?
reply

It means everything can be built without any coin at all, unless you want to make payments.
Think Bittorrent. They didn't have a coin before. They were doing just fine without a coin. People were pirating movies like crazy and they still do, without using the stupid ass coin, but if they wanted to do that, then yeah, you could use Bitcoin to pay people to torrent your data for you and stop paying them when they stop hosting your data for you.

LN itself is not in competition with blockchains. You could in principle settle LN channels on any blockchain, or simply on trust, or on government-enforced contracts if you feel like licking boots. There's LN for Litecoin and also there's Raiden for Ethereum.
With Taro upgrades which will allow intermediate nodes to exchange assets it is not inconceivable that you could send BTC over LN and the recepient would get ETH over Raiden, exchanged somewhere in between.

Shitcoins will never fully disappear because their marginal cost of production is negligible and the incentive to create them will always be there.
There are some shitcoins that are legit in the sense that they weren't put out with fraudulent intentions (like BAT), but they do not have any advantage over the lightning network. In other words, Brave Browser + BAT is a great idea but Brave Browser + sats is even better. I have yet to see an alt that provides value where bitcoin does not.

I think everyone here has played with altcoins at some point, it’s human nature to try new things and understand things in practical ways.
I don’t see nothing wrong with it as long as you understand what are you doing .
The issue is when some new guy put more money that they can lose on some kind of new terra/Luna project because they believe is going to be easy to “earn” money, and lose it all.
That’s bad for them, and bad for the bitcoin community because they will tell their family and friends to stay away of bitcoin too which is the real thing.
At the end being a maxi is something moral to do for a lot of us.

Also my opinion in favor of Bitcoin has changed because I see the constant depreciation of tokens and other digital nonsense (just in relation to Bitcoin, because to the dollar they can get more expensive). Unfortunately it took me a couple of years to realize it )))) So there you go. Nice chatting with you.

Over time, I think, they will mostly die out as more and more projects are launched on the LN that is built on the best monetary system that humans have to offer. The ones remaining will be for trying to build projects outside of the LN due to the difficulty or inability to actually build it on the LN (funding for these projects will also play a role in keeping them around as it seems to be easier to get funding for these things by issuing hyped up coins than it would be to ask for direct investments on the LN)
So if a project is a good project that addresses a certain gap in the market (which ever market) and the team behind it doesn't want to integrate into the LN, then the market has to use their chain in order to bridge that gap if no competitor offers a similar solution on the LN, which is also possible
Overall my feeling is that I only "trust" Bitcoin and no altcoins but I think the general market still sees Bitcoin and alts as similar investments with differentiating potential increases in value. For this reason I own some altcoins, but I don't see them as investments. They are projects that have been around for a while, has solid teams behind them and address a specific need in the market, but I still see it as more of a gamble than an investment (so what, I used to try my luck at the casino every now and then, so I decided I'd rather put that money in alts). As soon as another bull run comes along I plan to liquidate everything (if there is anything left) and channel whatever I can get into Bitcoin, over time. I think that around the bear market after the, hopefully, coming bull market the market will start to realize that the best way to build a project is to use Bitcoin/LN and investors will also start to prefer such projects whereas they love to chase those possible 1000X gains in the alts market

Yes, I like your position. I also have a couple of altcoins and they are growing well. But over the months and years, I see that these projects are being demonetized. That is, periodically they rise in price, then fall. But if you look at the graph, relative to the price of Bitcoin, they are constantly losing their value. This is probably the case with all altcoins. And recently, I see a lot of games, social networks, services with cashback, etc., actively implementing Lightning. And it's really cool! It is convenient, it is fast, it is simple and affordable. And I think that this trend will continue. Thank you for your opinion

I think Taproot assets could attract some shitcoining but I don't see it migrating the entire market there is already so much being done there to cater to this cohort so let them trade their delusions and dilutions as they get demonetised.
I see welcoming shitcoining like BRC-20 and taproot assets as Ethereum envy, that capital was going to be wasted regardless and is fickle, it's not the kind of capital you want chasing projects in your space, you want capital driving projects that will remain, and bring value to the user base.
I am more than happy to see all these altcoins on bitcoin fail and see this behaviour head back to alt coin land where they trade in circles and waste their purchasing power and become irrelevant with time, while learning some lessons in humility as they have to stack sats like the rest of us

Yes, many projects are being demonetized. Although they shout at the top of their lungs that there will be a breakthrough, they lose in price, and Bitcoin becomes more expensive. I got a lot of interesting thoughts from the interview with Michael Saylor. It is good that some bloggers translate his interviews into other languages.

Welcome to the world of Bitcoin! We are happy to have you here! Don't be afraid to ask questions :)
So the harsh reality is that over time you will find that what @DarthCoin tells you about Bitcoin is actually true - even though it will sound super harsh, offensive, triggering and so on. With time you get over it.
When you see a blockchain that looks "interesting", then look at the incentives model, look at who actually holds all those tokens and got them initially, look at the history of people that tell you that it's interesting, look at how hard/easy it would be to run that blockchain node on your computer, actually try running it with old computer, look at how many people are using it, how much traction is it getting, does provide anything that other/newer blockchain can't just easily replace.
To answer your question - there are always going to be scams and get-rich-quick schemers.
