What's your proof-of-work system to optimize your future?
Personally, I want to get better at writing and communication.
So here I am.
That's a broad question but here are some things I've done lately:
  1. Learned to free hand sharpen knives (like on a stone). Not well by any means, but it's a relaxing activity sometimes.
  2. Started a small homelab, to become more familiar with computer hardware.
  3. Started reading books more and the internet less. Good way to maintain sanity.

Amen to #3, just started switching from falling asleep while listening to podcasts to reading physical books.

Love these. Got into knife sharpening (mainly to cook) recently myself!

Fitness and mental well-being. I've started cold plunging too.

I'm on day 8 of cold showers in the mornings. They really get your head out your ass.

I try to stay on the lookout for areas of improvement. Here are some things I've been working on lately.
DIY home maintenance: Over the past couple of years we've saved thousands of dollars by learning how to do relatively simple tasks around the house, rather than hiring someone to do it for us.
Getting healthier: Being more physically active, avoiding heavily processed foods and take out, and eating more whole fruits and veggies.
Wading into the Value for Value world: I've gotten active on SN, Minds, and Nostr, recently, and I'm planning to start writing more longer form articles and essays on sites like WordForm and ZapRead.

I'll need to check out WordForm and ZapRead...

They're still pretty underdeveloped, but I think they have potential.

I just joined Zapread this week! How can I follow you? xP

Is there any activity over there? I stopped checking in. Stacker News has basically crowded out all my other social media usage.

Less screens more nature. Watching the sunrise, watching green foliage, grounding. Working out in the park. Every day

I also try to keep this in mind. I like to remind myself how not far off humans are from our primordial selves. Technology has moved far faster than our biology.
It's how I frame how I eat, how I exercise, how I spend my time, etc. Trying to keep things as close to our natural roots as I can comfortably.

Are you posting your writing? do you have a blog set up? Because I'd read your drafts/blog to boost your consensus mechanism :)

<3 nothing at the moment, exploring various platforms to write on to see what I like.
SN has been my favorite by far.

I am working in my discipline skills. I need to improve this area because it's very useful in two activities that I'm working on. One is trading (swing trading and to stick to the plan is not always as easy as it sounds). The other activity is running and the discipline is needed to go out and train.
I could work as well in my communication skills, my writing in my native language is more or less the same as in English... Plenty of room to grow!

Nice. Yeah people love to hate on trading, and I get why, but imo its one of the rawest forms of decision making out there. Trading lets you build discipline like a muscle.
I'm terrible at it lol.
