NFL is back. Sort of.
I did watch around a quarter of last night's hall of fame game. Didn't find it to be a particularly interesting game but it was nice to see football return. I have noticed the NFL more so than any other sport is a media machine. They always have something going on to remain relevant in the public conscious even when not much is really going on. I don't particularly care to follow the mass media outlets coverage of sports, other than maybe to check the headlines, scores, highlights and standings but I have found there are a lot of great content creators in the NFL ecosystem. Personally, I prefer podcasts or discussion forms, social media to consume sports content. With that in mind:
Besides watching games, shill me what sports content you like to consume. Extra sats for identifying some great independent content creators.
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
I know you'll say I have a one track mind, but I really like the Islanders Anxiety podcast about my favorite team. By the way, Wilson still looks crappy. Old Man Rodgers can't be any worse.

Spooky. I am listening to you and @kr right now and responding to you at the same time.
I think Jets will be good. Maybe not great but I think they will make some noise in the division.

I can't listen. Too self conscious. How's the pool looking?

It was great. Thanks for the shout out. I think we have 7 or 8 people committed to the pool. Hopefully we can get a couple more participants next week.

Back in the day, SportsCenter for highlights on the hour long loop. Today? Can’t stand it

They stopped selling sports highlights and started selling sports personalities

The UCLA QB the Browns drafted (DTR) couldn't have looked better in his debut, not like the 5th round draft pick he is.
Mainstream sports media and big name sportstalk radio are a great way to lose money as a bettor. What they do is not as innocent as it seems regarding leans. I should put together a short video exploring this. Also, I don't know a website that lists the record of each shill or show, but I'm thinking of making a database for one, for the sake of public record-keeping, and to sand off some of their influence. Sports betting liquidity, platforms, and sophistication is going to bring with it products that resemble complex efficient markets.

I'm actually the opposite, I generally don't care to read or listen to the average joe fan's take.
