cool !
for the non smartphone crowd such as myself can your team do an x64 port for linux?

I love when technology builds bridges. Why is it called "spring" tho? Same vibes as programming languages architects choosing the most unsearchable names ever
reply
Thanks for the feedback! Do you mean Spring is too vague and not related to tech in your mind?
reply
The word "spring" is a very widespread technology for servers
reply
Woooo brugeman is killing it. This is such a cool and novel concept.
reply
Thanks! Yeah I think this blend of several concepts gives us a new useful UX. So much work ahead though

Might just get rid of Amethyst and use this as my Nostr superapp... need Stacker News as an app tile, at least until it becomes a full-fledged Nostr browser with URL support.
reply
Yeah it's pretty nice. The native apps have advantages too, such as speed.
reply
Speed is definitely a big advantage of native apps. However, I wonder how much gain we could get if we implemented various nostr-specific APIs and optimizations at the browser level - like a native nostr-tools/ndk implementation that speeds up event processing, or a browser-wide event cache, etc.
reply
Can this app be use to connect to tor by proxy?
reply
Need to look into that, I think we can add this as an option.
reply
You can have it there - someone should just publish Stacker.news on nostr, i.e. with nostrapp.link. Or just paste https://stacker.news into the search bar of Spring and then pin the opened tab. Login with Nostr does work, although some weird error screen popped up for me.

This wht i need
reply
It works great so far, especially for a first release.
If a native app is installed, can you detect it & move it to the top rather than the bottom?
reply
Thanks! Can you please give me more input on your question? Say you have Amethyst installed, you want it to be offered at the top of app suggestions?

looking awesome!

Love to try this new browser 🫂

This is cool, nostr devs always surprise us.

super exciting — this new tech needs easier onboarding and UX and this is very much in that direction

That's why I come to SN. all the good info nice and early. Thanks for the post friend

NostrNet.work is a great tool and an alternative to Spring on desktop, but some features like custom context menus just can't be implemented there.
