We haven't heard much about that kind of chatter here, but I've seen some talk of it online and while I don't think the majority of people will fall for the same gag twice there was a vocal minority who had quite the hard on for lock downs and virtue signalling, be it just to feel good or because it benefitted them financially so there will always be someone saying its for grandma when its actually for some other ambition
I hope im wrong but apart from China I don't see people taking kindly to it again, be it for sickness or climate maybe CBDCs could drive it though, when theres direct payment/compensation involved you can get the majority to do just about anything
In my own circles, everyone believes that they will never get away with it all again simply because there is too much resistance. I’m not so optimistic actually.
I'm glad to see that Tucker isn't optimistic. Way too many people are complacent, because they believe that there is a movement ready and waiting to resist lockdowns.
The American Revolution was won with the support of ~3% of the American population. In 2020, ~13% of Americans opposed lockdowns, but lockdowns continued anyways. It no longer matters how many people oppose something; the State will get what it wants no matter how many people oppose it.
Tucker directly states the reason that significant opposition isn't enough:
These people working with media and Big Tech, combined with daily propaganda from Covid, might be enough to overcome a large portion of the public that swears they will not comply this time.
Because lockdown opponents are complacent, it is too late to dodge lockdowns. Nothing short of disconnection from news media would be enough, but news is so engaging that few want to give it up.
I told people in the fall of 2020 that lockdowns were a permanent thing, but few if any listened. Will warnings of another round of lockdowns be listened to when the NYT, a mouthpiece of the US Federal government, starts drumming up fear of COVID? I doubt it.
