Got together with some college friends over the weekend, a few of whom live in South FL. I mentioned I'd considered going to this year's Bitcoin conference and reaching out to them. One of them said "Yeah but didn't bitcoin die or something anyway?"
Cue #wearesoearly comments ... Granted, they likely pay very little attention to any investing least of all anything as technical as bitcoin.
It was a good reminder of what life is like outside the circles where I spend most of my time.
I had similar once; ‘hey, saw something on the news about that Bitcoin-coin thing you were banging on about. Is it back to rip more people off?’

Yup. It can get really easy to forget that countless people out there don't even know what Bitcoin is or that it exists, much less that it is not only alive but thriving. Most people have much more pressing concerns and don't want to learn about it so much.

Yeah, on one hand it sounds very foreign to people, but on the other, Bitcoin is just money, so it's a day to day thing for everyone.
I guess it's similar to how most people don't really know how money works.
