I had some weird dreams last night.
Did you know they say that Einstein founded his theory of relatively thanks to a dream he had?
In his dream, he stumbled across some cows along an electric fence. The fence gave the cows a shock, causing them to jump all at the same time. However, a farmer at the other end of the fence also saw the cows jump, just one at a time.
Eureka!
Einstein woke up with the realization that the same event can appear differently to different observers based on their position, because light takes different amounts of time to reach their eyes.
Now, I'm not sure that any of us figure out E=mc^2, but have you had a similar experience with dreams before?

Keith Richards came up with the guitar riff for Satisfaction in a dream. Mine, on the other hand, rarely make a damn bit of sense.

I’ve solved bugs in my code in dreams…

SN bugs??

Heh no. This was several years ago

Haha you can't ask two opposing questions and demand yes or no. I assume you meant the first question so I said yes :)
reply
haha i just removed the question at the bottom to remove confusion, thanks for calling that out!

I’m rather jealous if this happens to lots of people as their brains are still adding value when they aren’t using them.
In contrast, I’m always being chased by a giant gorilla wearing a tie and throwing barrels. Not sure what to make of that. I did work for a plumber called Mario for a time. Maybe that explains it.

Hey! I know that gorilla

Not sure anymore how I got the idea to use HODL invoices on SN but I know that after this idea, I woke up one day and thought:
I should also use HODL invoices for "p2p trades" for my prediction market idea!*
With HODL invoices, I can basically allow users to open an order without committing sats and without the need for a market maker. The order will only be confirmed if there is another user who wants to take the opposite side of the trade. Only then the HODL invoice will settle.
If after a specific amount of time no counter party was found, they will receive their sats back without any fees.
Additionally, an automated market marker (and "selective" to handle risk) can be built on top of this idea.
*before anyone hangs me, yes, that's not really a p2p trade

oh wow, cool site you made!
reply
Thanks, it's not even it's final form ;)
And I honestly think the contrast is bad.
Maybe I should just use white background with black text until I find a better design.
What's your opinion on the prediction market idea? Would you participate?
not trying to pressure you into actually participating when I launch depending on your answer now. But maybe I am subconsciously, lol
reply
Haha truthfully i'd probably stay away. My go at sports betting earlier this year has suggested it's probably not the best use of my sats lolol
reply
haha, no worries!

Sometimes it happens I dream a made up music track, I'm like "that would a banger electronic track ".

Most of my dreams show me what is to happen in a near or far future. When those things come through it feels like a deja Vu, like I have been in that situation before, but somehow I cannot recollect how. We are powerful beings if we can tap into our spiritual side as we do our physical life.

When I used to play in a band back in the day, I would dream of songs but then I could never remember them when I woke up. Too bad because they were always awesome in my dream.

i sometimes come up with the best melodies I can think of when im dozing off to bed. Never have the motivation to get back up and lock them down since im so close to sleep 😂
reply
But yes there is actually a lot of literature on this! The state between waking and sleeping is called hypnagogia and is documented to produce creativity!
