The was a Socratic panel about this at TAB, but I felt like I didn’t agree with any of the answers.

To me, pleb is term that describes the latest generation of bitcoiner encompassing the last two cycles. The next cycle (or lack of one) will create a new generation with its own moniker.

Plebs are Bitcoin lovin' folks who do the work to stack their sats 😀

Hello @nemo!!

This feels like one of those questions where if you have to ask, you're not a pleb.

Pleb is short for plebeian:

  • Originally the Latin word "plebeius" meaning of or relating to the common people of ancient Rome
  • Of, belonging to, or characteristic of commoners.
  • Unrefined or coarse in nature or manner; common or vulgar.

Pleb is a word who's meaning is very subjective. In my opinion, I view pleb as a humble Bitcoiner excited to help usher in hyper-bitcoinization

A pleb is form of unusually fuckable small but aggressive animal, wildly smelly, but after a while you start to get off on it.

edit: sorry misread your question

Lol omg

I am pleb. Always will be.

It’s a mindset. Beginners mindset. Don’t lose it!

reply

plebs are the bitcoiners who go unheard. The silent majority!

Someone who stays humble and stacks sats.

Is Darthcoin a pleb?

reply
  1. Patriarch: think Caesar or Hal Finney
  2. Senators: think Cicero or Foundry
  3. Equestrians: think Crassus or BlackRock
  4. Plebeians: think everyone else including @Darthcoin and full nodes

I asked because I just wanted to see how others see me.
Many see me as a "controversial" character and even hate me, so shoot.

I see you as one of the most hands-on, brutally honest, and funniest ones here

If i was in conversation with some one, and they referred to themself as a pleb. I would think the person i'm talking to is a humble bitcoin proponent.

reply

I have always took pleb to be a common Bitcoiner. Not one of the elite. IE not rich or famous. So pretty much the classic definition.

reply

Bitcoin only, not a developer or a "thought leader". Just quietly acquiring, holding and spending sats.

reply

Being a pleb is a starting point. I can go into more detail but that kind of ruins it.

This is the right answer. To try to make it mean something bitcoin-specific is trying too hard and misses the point.
