Kagi search subscription. Really liking it so far.

Tough to go back once you try it out and start customizing it. The lenses are amazing. I'm so glad they opened up to taking btc. Now just need to get them to use the same Login with Lightning feature that SN has. Then you can be even more anonymous!

Virtual VISA card from The Bitcoin Company counts?
reply
reply
I needed it to buy some ingredients for home made Bitcoin themed soaps I then sell for sats only, no fiat accepted.
reply
Instead of practically selling your sats to VISA, why not use a friend to pay for you and give HIM the sats? I would see that more "ethical" move than use a VISA card loaded from your sats.
We must push merchants to accept BTC, not by going to them with a fucking VISA card, but with BTC wallets, until they take it. If you continue to go to the shop with the VISA card, they will just go on with their life and never bother to know about BTC. You are practically sustaining the fiat system to live. Stop feeding the beast.
reply
I'm trying to do business here and time is money. Doing the way you suggest would cost time and effort, so the end product I would need to sell for few times higher price.
Besides - where's the difference between somebody paying for me or me buying VISA card from Bitcoin Company? In any case I pay sats to somebody, who then pays fiat expenses for me.
The latest thing I bought with bitcoin was a Coldcard hard wallet, but it was back in the beginning of the year.
reply
I bought lunch for a few friends at a seafood restaurant that doesn't ordinarily accept bitcoin.

recently bought some tallow skin lotion and chapstick from tallowed and free, great stuff.

I bought a gamer chair from my bud and paid him 185.000 sats (he wanted $50 for it). This is his first time getting into BTC... it did take me a while to convince him but it's finally a done deal πŸ™Œ and in the end he got pretty interested about too! *New pleb in the network, guys! Woohoo!
reply
Good, paying a friend in sats is the best way to help each others. You've just started a bitcoin circular economy!
reply
Got a VPN subscription: https://mullvad.net
Also I've started to do small bets for 5k sats with a friend about random stuff we talk about such as "what size is our galaxy" or "which year some historical event happened". Tons of fun, and always piques interest of people around us :)

Renewed my domain with porkbun and switched my email to proton, all with BTC
reply
I'm looking for domain hosting. Other than paying in btc (which isn't super obvious on their webpage that they accept it), what do you like about porkbun?
Cool that proton accepts btc for payment. I'm not a big fan of encrypted email unless you always communicate with other proton users. Otherwise, you lose the end to end encryption as soon as it leaves proton servers. If needing to use email to communicate securely, I'd send the plain text email with a PGP encrypted message as the email.

I added Kagi credit to my account via Lightning. https://blog.kagi.com/accepting-paypal-bitcoin
