taxes can indeed kill the adoption

Not so true 🫣

Lack of development & innovation
reply
That’s why we are all building
reply
I mean the development of Bitcoin protocol and consensus, not an ecosystem around Bitcoin (but it's important too). Slow speed (compared to Ethereum for example) of changes signals that though Bitcoin has a working consensus as a payment system, it barely has a consensus on how to improve and develop it.
reply
Wait hold up, you just compared ₿ with vitalik’s ponzy creation? I am 💀
reply
People not caring about it.
reply
So lack of understanding/adoption
reply
People understand but don’t care.
reply
They will care more if they understand it
reply
Possibly. If life is too good why would you need this thing called bitcoin?
reply
Because a “good life” without freedom is a fake life
reply
Yeah but most don’t care. Look how much Americans pay in taxes now look how much Europeans pay in taxes now. All this wasteful spending on immoral tax rates yet no one cares. Thus citizens of developed nations pay these tax rates with no pushback
Now if you apply this same logic to bitcoin you can easily see the masses not caring

At least 2 choices are missing from your poll:
. Mainstream Media . Bitcoiners/Influencers/Maxis
Sadly, many there are Bitcoin enemies, and even more sadly, some don't even realize it.

Are You more content with commercial adoption than last time we spoke (around half a year ago I guess)? I am following the BTC maps stats and it's growing slowly but steadily. I can't evaluate this movement as there is a lack of historic data points.
reply
yes, merchant adoption is growing. slowly but steady. We need more patience. We don't need chaos with panicked merchants wanting now all at once to implement BTC payments. Education and implementing solutions takes time and patience. And a lot of testing.

Thank You for Your opinion. Here in Spain it's tough. I am ''negotiating'' with my hair dresser (from Marocco). He gets it but than bad influence sets in. Like one of the youngsters is promoting binance or another explaining stablecoins. A lot of confusion...
reply
The situation in non-english speaking places is terrible. The language barrier made Bitcoin very hard to understand. Especially with spanish speaking places, they were for many years bombarded with false information and shitcoining. All that damage will take many years until will be washed out.
reply
There is change happening and bitcoiner community is growing at an exponential scale Especially where it is needed I personally saw it firsthand in turkey, lebanon, kosovo, nigeria
reply
Ah now I get it why it is that confusing over here. And nobody is watching english based education... I am doing my best

Send me your moroccan friend; i will break it down to him in either french or arabic. To which i assume he can comprehend both and spread it back home. Moroccans in morocco needs ₿ especially those who rely on expats transfers and they shell a shit load of remittance fees to get the petro$ converted
