Why is it bullshit? All the audio/video I've seen of Hal were after his ALS had progressed quite a bit.

Because people (especially BM) nowadays want to make too much noise about a dead man, RIP. And they want to take all the credit for that magazine.
Yes, Hal Finney was a great mind and a pioneer for Bitcoin, but for god sake, let him RIP. It's over, let's go forward, not every day write an article about him, just for the sake of getting some clickbaits.
