It'll be nice when people stop thinking of us as just another marketing channel and start thinking of us as a community of human beings.

Yep that's why I like to encourage them simply showing up even if it's maybe not earnest on their end yet.

Or maybe came for the sats, stayed for the fun.

imo this is a +1 for adding a comment option/requirement to link posts.
i think many coming to SN to market their own stuff are sharing links and leaving. a brief explanation of why their link matters will either prompt people to engage more deeply or not share their link at all.
it also has a side benefit of nudging people to read and understand the third-party links they share on here. i find myself sharing links here as fast as possible, often before even reading a single word.

definitely racing to be first.
one of the undesirable consequences though, is that if i’m sharing an article from someone who i know is reputable (but on a topic i know nothing about), it’s highly unlikely that i’ll have anything useful to add when other people make comments… and that can sometimes be the difference between a thread that dies and one that thrives.
its much better if someone competent in the subject matter is the one to post the article.

Most people are still so used to dropping links like in the fiat platform, for getting traffic or clicks.
Dropping links without any engagement in a room full of smart people is a waste IMHO.

Shitcoiners still don't understand that bitcoiners are humans. The good humans that will remain the last ones on this planet.
That's why they always try to shitcoinize the Bitcoin world with their crap. I saw this over and over for the last 10+ years.
