Having never been much out of Ontario, but having spent time on Paris, I think of Quebec as being all berets, baguettes, accordions, croissants and novelty European fire engine sirens…
Quebec is a bit of a caricature of France but I think aside from the language, signage and french heritage arrogance it is more similar to Ontario than France these days.
Quebec as a whole hasn't been the same since they lost the North Dicks (I am pretty sure that's what Nordiques means)
