I found this site to explain the monetary system of Star Wars Saga but I feel it comes short. Too many questions to answer.
Would had a system like bitcoin fit in a place and context like Star Wars?
When the Empire and the Resistance were fighting they were using the same currency. If it was centralized it would had tell the position of the rebels. Unless the galaxy was so huge that no algorithm can tell exactly who is using what.
But at some points, that's where the credits chips come along. Would you use more bitcoin cards if they had a fix amount non KYC and untrackable, but verifieble with some sort of postnet?
Are we talking pre-Disney SW, or post-Disney SW?
The galaxy went through a Great Reset when Disney took over.

hahaha good one btw... Palpatine looks very similar to Klaus...

I suggest you read this, it is absolutely excellent about galaxy wide monies...

From its inception, the credit was backed by the immense wealth of the planet Muunilinst and the InterGalactic Banking Clan (IGBC)1
So credit based money backed by something ... what's on Muunilinst?
Its shallow oceans contained hundreds of "smokers," which were conical volcanoes built up by powerful vents in the crust. Many, though not all, of these smokers spewed out superheated gases containing rich, pure precious metals from the planet's core. The very cones surrounding these vents were made up of layers of precious metals ...2
It was backed by precious metals by the sounds of it. Who is the IGBC? They're The Universe's bank ...
The IBC had their own data-server that allowed clients to access to the banking clan's datacom-net.3
That hosts a centralized credit system ...
At an unknown point during the Separatist Crisis, Chancellor Palpatine secretly opened several accounts in which he secretly subverted whole-planetary funds to be used at a later point, tax-free and account-free, so that several corporations affiliated with the IGBC (including Yarrow Industries) could profit.3
... and were corrupt.

Indeed, is quite hard to have a single currency in the whole galaxy. Not just because the need of a technology to be able to transmit and synchronize in real time all the transactions for such large distances, but more important is the fight between worlds, pirates gangs, outlawed, factions, clans etc. Everybody want a piece of cake so how they will control their piece? By issuing their own currency.
Watch the SW series Andor, where they explained a bit more about Imperial credits issuing and how they robbed an imperial "bank"
reply
I wonder this too! With such long distances, how could bitcoin stay synchronized? I bet we'll (as in the future bitcoin coders) figure it out when that the need arises.

I saw it. He was saving cash in his bathroom lol. Also found unrealistic to rob a bank like that, but if you have credit chips you have to guard them somewhere.

Yes, the star wars world is fascinating, but don't bother too much with its monetary system. It's chaos there, not even anarchy (are not the same) and any currency will not survive.
Only Darth's coin is unique. There's only ONE coin in existence and that is mine (pure scarcity). Forged in lava from Mustafar planet, with a secret scarce metal. The darthcoin can't be transferred to somebody else.
reply
you know we're in peak bear market when darth makes his own altcoin
reply
sir, this is not an "altcoin", it is not alternative to anything else. It just it. And exist only on the Mustafar planet, far far in another galaxy. So don't worry, Bitcoin is safe.
