Unless the galaxy was so huge that no algorithm can tell exactly who is using what.
Indeed, is quite hard to have a single currency in the whole galaxy. Not just because the need of a technology to be able to transmit and synchronize in real time all the transactions for such large distances, but more important is the fight between worlds, pirates gangs, outlawed, factions, clans etc. Everybody want a piece of cake so how they will control their piece? By issuing their own currency.
Watch the SW series Andor, where they explained a bit more about Imperial credits issuing and how they robbed an imperial "bank"
I wonder this too! With such long distances, how could bitcoin stay synchronized? I bet we'll (as in the future bitcoin coders) figure it out when that the need arises.

I saw it. He was saving cash in his bathroom lol. Also found unrealistic to rob a bank like that, but if you have credit chips you have to guard them somewhere.

Yes, the star wars world is fascinating, but don't bother too much with its monetary system. It's chaos there, not even anarchy (are not the same) and any currency will not survive.
Only Darth's coin is unique. There's only ONE coin in existence and that is mine (pure scarcity). Forged in lava from Mustafar planet, with a secret scarce metal. The darthcoin can't be transferred to somebody else.

you know we're in peak bear market when darth makes his own altcoin

sir, this is not an "altcoin", it is not alternative to anything else. It just it. And exist only on the Mustafar planet, far far in another galaxy. So don't worry, Bitcoin is safe.
