It was supposed to be a secret project!!!
What are the most important features of the Orange Pill App that only appeal to bitcoiners?
The ability to zap each other with one single click.
What's the most surprising thing you've learned about bitcoiners from building the orange pill app?
That education is paramount. Most of our users - who should be more interested in bitcoin than the average pleb - don't know the difference between an LN Address and an invoice or an LNURL.
We're so early.
Looking forward to it. I'm trying to connect with more local stackers using your app.
Which city or jurisdiction has the highest number of orange pill users?
We don't track users by city or region. We only have country data and here's the ranking
US
Canada
UK
However, since Canada has ~1/10th of US population it it our biggest market pro-capita
I heard there may be a partnership with btcmap. Is that still moving forward or are you taking a different approach? Btcmap seems like a great idea but is also not that updated. I'd love to use OPA to help contribute to the ecosystem by updating and adding new businesses that accept bitcoin.
We still haven't decided if we're going to use Btcmap API or build our own database from scratch. Or a mix. Either way, we will have merchants on the app in Q1 of 2024.
Provided that the information gathered through the app could be open sourced and available for others to use and build upon. It wouldn't be the bitcoin ethos to lock the gathered info to the OPA app.
